Thank you, Dana. The Boston Marathon goal came out of a derailed marathon training season. During the idea stage, I lengthened the plan longer and longer until I could focus on the journey rather than the destination. There is plenty of time to experiment, to be injured, to fail, and to keep trying.

What made you decide to make it a 10 year plan? I think it is totally possible. What I love is you are willing to risk the “impossible” to see what is possible with training and dedication. I’m cheering for you!

Thanks! The sun was making me squint, so I thought I’d make the best of it.

And oh my goodness! Yes, please!

I’m looking forward to watching you progress over the next 10 years! 🙂

If you make it to Boston, I’ll buy a plane ticket and come watch you race!

Thank you! The marathon distance is a unique experience. It changed my running life, and I’m hooked.

Before I ran the full, I always wondered why there wasn’t a 3/4ths marathon, haha! But those last 6 miles are where you EXPERIENCE the marathon.

Thanks for your comment. Good to hear from another long distance runner, and I’m enjoying your blog!

Amazing achievement in itself! I have only done a few half’s and am at that stage of contemplating whether it’s too big a jump (double!) to get to the marathon distance. They look like serious qualifying times but I agree with you, it’s great to have a goal and something to strive for! Good luck!
