Laluna Resort where we stayed in Grenada offered yoga or Pilates classes each day. TH did all the research and booking for our honeymoon and this one of the reasons he chose Laluna. And even more exciting, the first morning I picked up my mat to go — TH CAME TOO!!!

Laluna Resort in Grenada offers Pilates, Yin, Hatha, and Vinyasa (flow) yoga from 3 different instructors. It is complementary for their guests, but they also offer it to non-guests for $12 + $3 mat rental if needed. Here is their schedule if you happen to find yourself in Grenada.

Nature surrounded the dedicated Yoga Pavilion – an organic garden, woods, the spa in the back, and the ocean in the front. Thick Gaiam yoga mats were left in our room for us to bring. The resort also provided bolsters, straps, and blocks.

Our yoga instructor lived on a boat and worked at several resorts in the area. She used plenty of verbal cues and pointers, but no hands-on instruction. The classes were stimulating but not difficult. TH was able to follow despite being a yoga newbie. The instructor reported it was not uncommon for people, especially spouses, to try yoga for the first time while at the resort.

A common instruction in yoga is to “close your eyes or gaze softly at the horizon”. In Grenada, it was impossible to not gaze out to the ocean. I especially loved watching the sail boats go by.

Yoga in Grenada was a beautiful experience. I highly recommend it! It was especially nice to have TH by my side.
