Lake Mayer Community Park is one of the most versatile parks in Savannah, GA. While I’ve just been using for its ~1.5 mile rubber track and fitness course, there is also a boat ramp, dirt bike course, tennis courts, etc etc. There is even a skate park in the works. The Lake Mayer Circuit Run is an easy way to try other exercises besides just running or walking.
Lake Mayer Circuit Run
Yesterday I ran 4.5 miles with circuit training the last 1.5 miles. The fitness course along the track makes an easy no-brainer circuit. You just stop at the station signs and do what it tells you to do, all equipment provided — jumping jacks, pull-ups, core work, etc.
Each station gives three levels of difficulties, whether it’s more jumping jacks or a longer wall sit. And then you can also vary difficulty by sprinting, running, or walking between the stations.
Some of the stations:
- Jumping jacks
- Stretches
- Jumps
- Pull ups
- Lunges
- Wall sit
- Push ups
- Balancing step ups
- Pull ups
It was 95 degrees out, but humidity wasn’t awful for a change.
I should check out Lake Meyer.
It’s a nice break from Daffin.
Excellent blog post. I certainly love this website. Thanks!
